Fibre Federal Credit Union is seeking a Systems Specialist for our Longview, WA location.

 

Wage Range: $28.81 - $45.01
* The range above allows our employees room for growth through annual merit and other pay increases based on performance.  The target pay range for this position is typically within the first half of the range.  Compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training.  Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Provide technical and systems support for Credit Union staff, business applications, IT service tools, and assigned technology systems. This position serves as a bridge between frontline support and systems administration by helping maintain system availability, coordinating software updates, supporting IT projects, and assisting with the organization of tickets, assets, documentation, and vendor-supported systems.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Assist with the administration, maintenance, and support of assigned business applications, vendor systems, and related servers or virtual machines.

·         Support the configuration and utilization of tools to monitor and report system utilization and health metrics.

·         Coordinate with vendors and internal departments on software updates, application upgrades, troubleshooting, testing, and follow-up tasks.

·         Assist with patching, software deployment, endpoint management, recurring system maintenance, and projects as assigned.

·         Contribute to the completion of daily IS Operations tasks, as required.

·         Serve as an escalation resource for advanced desktop, software, application, peripheral, and system-related support issues.

·         Escalate problems and other issues to appropriate staff or vendors, when necessary.

·         Provide prompt and courteous IT support to Credit Union staff and ongoing monitoring of incoming Helpdesk calls and tickets.

·         Interface with, monitor, and direct outside vendors.

·         Travel to services centers or other locations, as required to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position.

·         Support the building, installation, testing, and maintenance of new and existing hardware, software, peripherals, and programs.

·         Generate and maintain appropriate documentation and reports, and document tasks in appropriate tracking system(s).

·         Assist staff with the navigation, use, and configuration of software applications, hardware, and peripherals.

·         Maintain records and archival procedures to adhere to retention and compliance requirements.

·         Help to mitigate security findings related to business applications and systems.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

·         Position Knowledge – The individual is required to have the skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school, and aptitude conducive to training for the position. Within one year in the role, the individual is expected to develop the knowledge and experience necessary to pass industry recognized IT certifications, such as CompTIA A+ & CompTIA Network+.

·         Travel - The individual must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel to/from any services center or location, as the position requires.

·         Problem Solving - The individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully, pays attention to detail, and exhibits logical thinking and good judgment.

·         Interpersonal Skills - The individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others' ideas, and exhibits willingness to try new things.

·         Oral Communication - The individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. The individual maintains appropriate ongoing communication with department management and keeps them informed of all pertinent problems, irregularities, developments, changes, and other important information.

·         Written Communication - The individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively, and can read and interpret written information.

·         Planning/Organizing - The individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, and develops realistic action plans.

·         Quality Control - The individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors their own work to ensure quality.

·         Dependability - The individual is consistently at work and on time (except for those cases protected by law which are outlined in the Employee Guide), follows instructions, responds to management direction, solicits feedback to improve performance, and successfully works under stressful and pressure-filled situations.

·         Observes Policies/Procedures - The individual sets an example in observing (following) Credit Union policies and applicable Standard Operating Procedures, as well as those in the Employee Guide.

 

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

Possess high school diploma or equivalent

 

Education - (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program or relevant experience.

Experience - Three to five years of similar or related experience preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to think logically, solve problems, work independently, be capable of following detailed technical instructions, and be willing and able to continuously learn. The individual will also benefit from an understanding of core systems administration and networking concepts including virtualization, security, SAN storage, TCP/IP, and user access management.
